24 Jul Book Review: The Five-Minute Journal: A Happier You in 5 Minutes a Day
Modern life is pretty complicated these days. Our personal, work and family commitments seem to increase every day and the constant pursuit of happiness often leads us to seek out more material wealth. While nothing is wrong with that per se, the danger is that it often leaves little room to think about how fortunate we are. This is in spite of the fact there’s extensive research to suggest that having an attitude of gratitude can boost our mental health and wellbeing.
The Five Minute Journal is a great way to focus on and record all the things you are grateful for. Using well-known psychological theories about positivity, the journal enables the reader to focus attention on the more positive aspects of life with the aim of increasing mental (and by association) physical well-being.
